Patrick Kenyon Kennedy Sr., 86, died November 15, 2019 at his home at Lake Choctaw in London, Ohio.
At his request, no formal services will be held.
Mr. Kennedy was born October 27, 1933 in Erie, PA, The first of six children born to Donald and Treva Kennedy.
Although an excellent athlete, Patrick turned down an opportunity with the New York Yankees to pursue his education at Penn State University. There he earned an engineering degree while playing varsity baseball and left a long unrivaled batting record. He later established a baseball scholarship in his name.
Throughout his life he held a diverse array of jobs including management positions at US Steel, Booz-Allen Hamilton, Iscor, Sunoco Paper, Buckeye Steel Casting, and Hunting Bank.
He was an active member on the operations boards of several charities, including: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy Scouts of America, ARC and Nationwide Children's Hospital.
His other interests included: Jazz, playing golf and tennis, traveling, membership in MENSA, Intertel, The masons and fishing with his grandkids.
Patrick is survived by his son, Patrick Jr. (Kathie), daughter, Sheryl (Bret) Hickman, grandchildren: Sondra, Chris (Sonja) and Quinn, two great-grandchildren, Paxton and Kairi and his siblings: Jim, John and Susan. He is predeceased by his wife, Sondra, his parents and brothers Bob and Dennis
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Big Brother Big Sisters of Ohio.
