FLORIDA REALTORS: We'll See YOU at the Florida Realtors Convention & Trade Show

By Press release submission | | Aug 26, 2019

Florida Realtors issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.

Pick any hot real estate topic – algae, flood insurance, iBuyers, service animals – the annual convention is a once-per-year chance to change talk into action.

Florida Realtors® is “the voice for real estate in Florida” because it’s made up of 187,000 individual member’s voices. The association advocates, sometimes strongly, for laws that benefit homeowners, stricter rules that protect the environment, and real estate business laws, such as spending money to root out unlicensed activity or minimizing the mandatory disclosure burden home sellers may face.

The process isn’t invisible. Realtors who give up a few days of their time to attend Florida Realtors Convention & Trade Show this week have a chance to voice concerns, offer opinions and lobby for action.

Realtors worried about algae problems, for example, get the latest updates. What’s happening now? What can we expect next year? How can the impact be mitigated? Members can speak their mind and, if appropriate, suggest tactics the association can pursue to solve the problem.

The same is true for fast-changing marijuana laws, service and emotional pet guidance, new competition from iBuyers and a host of other disrupters in a fast-changing industry.

The convention offers two ways to take action: Education sessions, which provide updates and projections for the future, and committee meetings that help Florida Realtors’ board of directors decide which positions the association should advocate.

Committee meetings (Aug. 23-24) follow the two-day convention (Aug. 21-22) held this year in Orlando at Rosen Shingle Creek resort. Pre-registration has ended, but all 187,000 members of Florida Realtors are encouraged to attend – simply register onsite upon arrival.
